AR-32C EM Gun by MarkRaats AR-32C EM Gun by MarkRaats
As a few people correctly pointed out, I used an Aliens Pulse rifle in my most recent AJ post and I used it because I hadn't got around to creating my own weapon - and I wanted to see what she looked like wielding a gun of sorts.

For my own firearm, I've opted for something more conventional looking - a big gun that's a combination of the Pulse rifle and today's Infantry weapon.

Its safe to say that designing futuristic weapons is not my forte but these sketches might be of interest to some...

Copic markers and pencil on heavy acid free paper.

not as great as your work. If only I could create my ideas as fast as I can think of them. I always liked the scene in aliens where Ripley asks apone  "Where do you want it" when loading materials in space dock. His facial expression is priceless.

I think your design is amazing and it was a perfect reference for a drawing I was doing.
I was wondering if I could have your permission to post it to dA, since it is your gun.
I would be happy to share it with you and link back here.

oh one other thing the riflle looks great but you should ad a dust cover over the cartridge ejection port for a little bit more realistic design but great weapon

I always envied those smooth industrial design guys who could envision an object and then draw it with maximum credibility from all angles without ever seeing the bloody thing first! But then when I look at your illustrations, you have that special talent to spontaneously capture the imagination and dreams of viewers and other artists alike, myself included.

Anyway, if your strip makes it big and some plastics company decides to produce this, I want first dibs bidding on the one off metal prototype!!!

You did a great job rendering this. I have used many G.I. Joe weapons , and there is a guy on Ebay who made some custom mini-weapons that work great for reference, when I want certain angles.

very nice work!!!

I wish I could express how I wished you could use the pulse rifle in the image, it really looked bloody awesome.

I hope you didn't feel i was nit-picking, on the contrary, I LOVE aliens and the pulse rifle was one of the characters of that movie as far as I'm concerned.

Marvellous job!

LOL not at all Wayne..

I'm far too old and have being doing this for far too long to feel that you were nitpicking. On the contrary, your comments were very well stated and its always great to get intelligent feedback..

Obviously there was no way I could use the Aliens gun because as gorgeous as it is, its not My gun - and therefore not mine to use.
Since this is as much a voyage of discovery for me as it is for anyone else interested, I simply like the fact that this everything in this exercise is able to evolve at its own pace.

I'm not a comic artist so this is a fun excursion for me and its safe to say that the type of things you were looking for will ultimately become part of a strip - if it ever gets that far..

Cheers again mate!

Phew.

The internet can make messages seem cold sometimes, I did fear I'd cocked-up (to quote a local phrase)

I just had a look through your gallery again, damn, some real nice work. I love the Blade Runner gun, I fear i could only afford a replica. Made of paper. ;)

Schweeet!

Looks nice and solid, and not absolutely rediculous (like some guns that appear in games.

You should do an exploded view, or maybe a transparent technical drawing of this one.

dude, anything you draw/paint is of interest =)

It's quite a cool gun actually, I've noticed alot of futuristic weaponry doesn't actually look functional, but this does, nice job!
